“Gougane Barra - West Cork”
I was lucky to grow up in West Cork, on an island close to the magical Lough Hyne.
Lough Hyne is in the heart of West Cork, is a salt water lake surrounded by woodland and was designated as Irelands first Marine Nature Reserve – it’s a place of natural beauty, myths, legends and real magic! My work is heavily influenced by the enchantment of Lough Hyne – from the shape of the purple sea urchins that hide underneath the glistening waters to the luscious woodlands that encapsulate the lake. Of course it is also influenced by the beauty and wildness of the land & sea scape of West Cork! As they say, “it could only happen in West Cork”.
I have been designing and creating jewellery for over 5 years using the traditional silversmith technics, bring my designs to life by cutting, bending and manipulating the metal and sprinkling some magical precious gem stones on top.
All my pieces are Hallmarked with my maker’s mark, the Hibernia mark and the Metal fineness and purity mark all from the Dublin Assay office in Dublin Castle.

Each piece is made by hand using the finest silver and precious stones, accented with recycled gold, using traditional silversmith technics and tools to bring my designs to life.
